Whether you seek remote French steeps via helicopter or rip expert-only lines and secret stashes at your favorite local resort, few freeride snowboards give you the same level of exceptional performance found on Burton's T6 snowboard. In fact, this is one of the feature-laden freeride snowboards you'll find on the mountain this season. We always liked the shock-absorbing cushion offered by the T6 for big air fanatics, but this season Burton made the padding a little more earth friendly with Eco EVA padding material made from recycled materials. The even-profile T-6 has always been one of Burton's most responsive boards, topping their "feel" rating system in terms of performance, so this season Burton upped the response and adjusted the maximum values in their "feel" scores to accommodate this model. Burton also added their new Channel binding mount system that allows riders to customize their binding stance while improving the connection between their bindings and their snowboards for improved power transmission. The Channel is compatible with Burton 3D and EST bindings, so you can modify your binding stance width or angle to match your riding style. To keep this design light and durable, Burton used their proven Alumafly Core, a tip-to-tail honeycombed aluminum core that adds up to 90% air when you do the structural math. The advantage to using this core over organic wood cores is that the T6 core features a consistent snap and response that lasts for many seasons. This Alumafly Core is also wrapped in a Triax Response fiberglass for versatile all-mountain flex and response. The Burton T6 remains paired with Burton's Sintered N20 WFO Base, the fastest Burton base that won't demand extra care and performance waxes at the end of every snow day. The Sintered N20 WFO Base has a dual temperature wax impregnation process that holds wax better than previous base formulas. Burton also consulted Pininfarina, the Italian designers who do work for Ferrari, Maserati and Jaguar to create this season's T6 graphic design. We like the bold simplicity of the contrast colors on all of the T6 boards. Another nice touch is the extended size range in the T6 collection. If you're a larger guy and you're put off by the limited pop potential of boards created for riders in lighter weights, the T-6 features larger lengths with better weight capacity for more riders.
